Northwest Education Service Cooperative is seeking applications for the position of:
Career and Technical Education Coordinator
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall develop and coordinate the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Program for the consortium; create and manage the budget, as well as provide accountability as required by the Department of Career Education.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall work cooperatively with Career Education state staff and program managers in the collection of data; evaluation of programs; assistance to new instructors and provide staff development for all CTE instructors.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall encourage the development, implementation, and improvement of CTE programs.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall serve as a resource for districts without a local vocational director.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall be in attendance at all Arkansas Career Education (ACE) technical assistance monitoring of schools within the cooperative area.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall schedule training/staff development for administrators, teachers, and counselors regarding CTE initiatives such as: Curriculum Frameworks, Programs of Study, Integration of Academic and Vocational Education, Career Action Planning, and Student Competency Testing.
- The Career and Technical Education Coordinator shall represent the cooperative at local, state, and national events and attend professional development meetings called by the Department of Career Education.

Mentoring Specialist
Job Description, 180-240 day contract (negotiable)
The NWAESC Regional Mentoring Specialist will work with the Mentoring Team to:
● Maintain a list of non-licensed teachers and coordinate support (regular contact, email about opportunities, connect with Praxis study sessions)
● Ensure that all novice teachers are paired with the appropriate mentor
● ArPEP co-facilitator (some Saturdays required)
● On-site support/District visits: goal–hold a novice meeting in each district, ideally coordinated with the district’s new teacher orientation
● Create and deliver a menu of novice-specific on-site professional development to principals, to be scheduled and delivered at their request Individual Responsibilities
Daily:
● Daily travel within Benton, Madison and Washington counties to work with schools to support novice teacher and their mentors as well as implement DESE initiatives. Weekly:
● Team meeting to coordinate and collaborate novice teacher support; receive goals for the week and account for the previous week’s goals
● Google Classroom post to novices to share resources and training opportunities
● Novice teacher check-in on a minimum of 1 campus
● Maintain the Co-op Calendar
● Deliver a weekly report of a daily log (to the Coordinator)
Monthly:
● Digital newsletter to novices: pd opportunities; classroom management, instruction, behavior, professionalism, and wellness tips
● Podcast Episode: highlight programs, spotlight teachers and schools, advertise upcoming events, in addition to newsletter information
● ArPEP Saturday session
● Maintain travel records and submit to the Mentoring Coordinator
Quarterly:
● Educator Effectiveness System + Ethics Training
● Cohort PD days: design and present sessions to support classroom management, instruction/assessment, and professionalism skills for novices (designed around an anchor text); differentiated support for Special Education teachers
As needed:
● Intensive support to novices as needed (initiated by novice or building leadership)
● Create social media posts to advertise novice support opportunities (pd, tutoring, etc.)
● Provide on-site professional development sessions at schools
